NOTE: Please ensure to have a survey carried out by a Gas Safe Register registered gas installer to check and certify the compatibility of your chimney with this fire before making any purchase to avoid disappointment. Also note that whilst soot deposits on a gas fire are quite normal and to be expected you may also experience discolouration of the ceramics over time which again is quite normal and to be expected through general wear & tear. When installing this inset fire into an existing fireback it is quite normal to have gaps around all 3 sides of the fire tray as the inset trays are always manufactured under size to go into existing openings. This manufacturer has extended the ceramic set on their 16" inset tray to make the fire appear larger to help fill 18" fire openings. It is also recommended that this fire should not be used as a sole source of heat rather as a secondary source in conjunction with central heating.
