NOTE: Please ensure to have a survey carried out by a Corgi registered gas installer to check and certify the compatibility of your chimney, flue etc with this fire before making any purchase to avoid disappointment. This product does not require a hearth to be installed on the floor providing the product is installed up in the wall with a minimum height of 70mm from floor level. If there is already a correct sized air vent within the proposed room of installation then the no vent glass canopy option will not be required when installing this product. The 125mm 5" gather hood option is available if you are connecting to a prefabricated flue or in instances where the product is being installed into an open chimney without a liner, which will also help to minimise heat loss and soot / debris falls onto the fire. However the gather hood can only be purchased and used in conjunction with the no vent glass canopy option regardless of whether you have an existing air vent in the room. Please note that whilst soot deposits on a gas fire are quite normal and to be expected, they will be more visible on a pebble or driftwood fuel effect. Similarly you may experience discolouration on the stainless steel back panel behind the fire which will vary in degree dependant on the flue pull and other local conditions, which again is quite normal and to be expected. It is recommended that this fire should not be used as a sole source of heat rather as a secondary source in conjunction with central heating. POWERFLUE VERSION: - A powerflue or fanflue is an open fronted gas fire which has an electronically driven fan system mounted on the outside of the wall to expel the flue gases away safely. Although a sound from the fan when in operation is to be expected you may also experience some natural air circulation from the open flue when the fire is not in use which is quite normal. Please note in cases of power failure (power cuts) to your property this fire will not work. The fan electric supply can either be via a 13amp socket or fused switch spur installed by a qualified electrician. The optional extra powerflue kit which is available with this fire comes with either a 3, 6 or 12 metre maximum length of run. (Please ensure to check which one you require before ordering, as the cost shown above in the extra's section would be more expensive than shown if not ordered at the same time of ordering the fire). Also note if the fire is less than 2.7 metres above the ground then a guard will be required (Not supplied with the powerflue kit, prices on application).
