NOTE: All the above sizes are in millimetres (mm), imperial sizes are rounded up to the nearest inch and the rebate is the depth within the surround. If the fireplace is made from MDF with a wood effect veneered finish it is only suitable for gas or electric fires and cannot be used with a real solid fuel, and Burley Stone effect finished mantels / surrounds are suitable for use with gas and electric fires, (with the exception of catalytic fluless gas fires and high heat output gas fires) and cannot be used with a real solid fuel fire. Please be aware that whilst soot deposits on a gas fire are quite normal and to be expected, they will be more visible on a pebble, driftwood or light coloured fuel effect. Marflex is a veneered MDF product. Also be aware that due to the fire producing heat the interior of the fire may become marked over time through general wear and tear.
